Difference Between Natural And Organic Foods
Many people often wonder if natural food is different from organic foods. Some people use like to use the words interchangeably while others use them represent different types of food items.
When it comes to composition and production methods, natural foods and organic foods are somewhat similar. Both are grown using only natural or organic method of growing crops without the use of any synthetic chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
One difference is that natural foods need to undergo processing to a certain degree to preserve them and give them longer shelf lives. Organic foods, on the other hand, are not preserved at all. While natural food items may have certain preservatives, organic foods are in their real natural form.
Organic foods, meanwhile, have to pass rigid tests and standards laid down by different governments in the world to guarantee their quality so that they can be categorized as organic. On the other hand, natural foods do not need to pass any such tests in order to be called natural.
Compared to natural food, organic foods are typically more expensive. However, both tend to be priced higher than most inorganic food items on the whole.
Despite the number of differences between organic foods and natural foods, they also have similiar characteristics with each other.
First of all, they are both produced using only natural means of production. This ensures that they grow at the same speed they would grow in their natural environment, hence ensuring the healthiest crop possible.
Second, farmers do not use chemical fertilizers to enrich the soil where the organic and natural foods are grown and cultivated. All the manures and fertilizers used are natural and made from animal and plant waste.
The third similarity is that growing these organic and natural foods do not require the use of dangerous pesticides. Thus, precipitation of harmful pesticides on the external parts of these food products that may be unknowingly consumed is prevented.
Another trait that natural and organic foods share is that they have better taste and nutritional content compared to their inorganic counterparts. This is due to the fact that natural and organic food items are produced naturally.
The fifth quality that organic and natural foods share is that they do not contain hazardous toxic contents since both of them are produced using natural means. These toxins are mostly found in many inorganic foods.
Sixth, the intake of both natural and organic foods ensure consumers of a healthy and balanced diet that will always keep them trim and fit.
The seventh similarity between organic and natural foods is that they do not contain any kind of genetic alterations that are typically performed in organic foods. These changes are usually introduced to make inorganic food items grow faster but degrade their quality. On the other hand, organic and natural food items are of good quality and very safe to eat.
Lastly, the higher demand of organic and natural food items decreases the use of dangerous pesticides and fertilizers, thus helping the environment and making it less polluted.
